Critical update submitted for both versions

After the latest update we bumped into the bug when users reported creation of long-lasting semesters caused the app to freeze. Short-lasting semesters could be created with not problem at all.

Funny that we could in no way reproduce this on our devices. We got to the idea that it might be territory related bug when we paid attention to the names of the users who sent us their complaints: after short investigation it appeared that all of them are located in the countries of Latin America (Brazil, Peru, Chile). Some more investigations, and we found out it was related to the daylight savings specifics in the Latin America.

There were more bugs reported by you and we appreciate all your comments and valuable input. So, we fixed it and submitted critical updates for both iOS and Mac versions.

iPhone/iPod and iPad version:

  • Fixed occasional crash on start after recent update
  • Fixed crash while creating regular schedule
  • Fixed crash related to overnight performance of the app
  • Fixed occasional crash while syncing
  • Fixed occasional crash in Calendar

Mac version:

  • Fixed crash related to overnight performance of the app
  • Fixed crash while creating regular schedule
  • Fixed occasional crash while syncing
  • Fixed weekdays control view for Lion

NOTE: if you experience any of the problems described above, do not delete the app, just wait for the update.

UPDATE: iStudiez Pro for Mac version 1.0.3 and iStudiez Pro 1.5.3 now available in the App Store.

  • you will also be able to navigate week view using your keyboard

Also, thanks to your comments and reports the following bugs are now fixed:

  • notes to classes will no more be lost when changing any schedule details for particular course/class
  • settings sync fixed
  • overall performance improved
  • problem causing occasional events not to show in Calendar (Mac version)
  • occasional switch from letter grades to percent grades causing overall grade to be calculated incorrectly (Mac version)
  • hitting and viewing overlapping events in Week view (Mac version)

ATTN: Push Notifications Server officially stopped

IMPORTANT: this will affect ONLY those who use iOS 3.1.3 OR iStudiez Pro version 1.3.2 and earlier.

Starting today we officially stop Push Notifications Server that had supported push notifications for iStudiez Pro prior to Apple implemented Local Push Notifications option into the iOS 4.0.

The reason we are doing it now is that we are optimizing server workload which assumes removing functionality that is currently hampering the app’s further development.

Local push notifications option remain untouched and will work normally.

iStudiez Pro for Mac submitted for approval

First of all we apologize for the delay in submit date, we know you’ve long been waiting for it. Now hopefully it will not take that long for Apple to approve 🙂

iStudiez Pro for Mac syncs with iStudiez Pro on iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad via the Cloud Sync server. All users of iStudiez Pro version 1.5 will be able to enjoy this feature.

Version for Mac 1.0 is not yet fully localized into all the languages that iOS version of the app supports, but our volunteer translators are now helping us to improve that. Thank you all guys for being with us!

We also want to say thank all of you who sent their ideas and suggestions, our beta-testers for their valuable comments and timely feedback and everyone else who was patiently waiting and supporting us on their blogs, forums, tweets and Facebook posts.
