iStudiez Lite now available on App Store

To make it easier for those of you who are not in favor of quick decisions, we’ve created iStudiez Lite version. It is intended to satisfy a want of those who feel it important to get acquainted with the app for FREE before buying it.

iStudiez Lite limits you to managing:
1 semester
3 courses
5 classes per course
7 assignments
5 instructors
2 holiday periods

NOTE: Push notifications and backup options are not included in iStudiez Lite.

Once you’ve familiarized yourself with the app and (of course!) found it absolutely indispensable to survive your academic epoch, you can upgrade to iStudiez Pro with all your data safely transferred to the pro version from the lite one.

I think you’ve made a really wonderful app.
Now I can use my iPod touch while in class with the excuse that it’s also my agenda, without getting a ban from class:P

But also as an agenda it is a very nice app with good features.
Planning things (and even important, remembering them) is much easier now. Adding homework and stuff is easy just like cancelling one single class for that specific week.

A few new features/improvements for in the future would be nice:
-A Tomorrow(or something like that) tab would be nice, so I can easily pack my bag, cancel classes, and see if I have to do some homework for the next day.
-I don’t know if you can change the loading time of the app, because that isn’t that fast. I use Backgrounder (don’t worry, I really bought your app because I liked it, after testing the pirated version for just one day:P) to get the app start immediately, but I think that for non-jailbreakers the app is a bit to slow.
-Some kind of table for grades (with the weight, like the greatest repetition of the year or just a small book report)
-And it has been mentioned many times already but a PC version with some kind of synchronisation would be nice in the future.

Again, thanx for making this app, because easily adding homework in your iPod Touch/iPhone is way more awesome than adding it with pencil on the coolest paper agenda.

You should be able to make ONE backup as you don’t want to type in everything again if you buy the full version… just what I think

  • Joshua Gomez

I upgraded from your lite to the pro but my data did not transfer. Is there a way I can still transfer this information. If anyone know how please email or respond to this post. Thank you. This product is awesome but will be disappointed if I have to redo all my data from lite edition.

  • Hi Joshua, we’ve replied to your email.

  • Zidane

The Lite App is rather nice, but I use the Pro version, since it’s wonderful. A few things I’d like to see:

    – A “This Week” view, similar to what you see in a regular calender app (with colored squares over certain time slots – similar to desktop calenders)

    – A “Tomorrow” View

    – The addition of a “Work” function would be great (IE when I need to be at work, in conjunction with my class schedule, so I can see when I’ll have free time)

    – Speed is always wonderful, so a slightly quicker load time would be wonderful

    Great app guys. Very impressed.

  • Thanks Zidane, we’ll take all of that into account for the future updates.

  • Zidane

Oh! And one other idea for a feature:

How about the ability to make a different assignment: not a homework assignment or an exam, but a QUIZ? It could have it’s own little icon (assignments have the paper clip, exams have red flags… Perhaps quizzes/tests could have a pencil or something).

    Thanks for the fan appreciation!

  • We will of course add more to exams options, but things take time 🙂

  • Boor

    Hi iStudiez team,

I’m Only writing this comment to thank you.
Your App is so wonderful, and it represents a 50% of my student life.
Reading all this comments, i don’t have any more features to suggest to you.
(Sorry for my bad English, I’m Spanish.)

PD: Thank you thinking about students =)

  • Andrew

A suggestion for a future update. Most college classes, you are given a syllabus with homework for the semester. It is a pain to enter all the homework so what about an option to have an assignment repeat every week or days and be able to just edit each one after they are created with specific info-this would save a lot of time. Just a thought as I spend hours entering in assignments for all my classes.

  • Gracias, Boor 🙂
    P.S. tu ingles es perfecto.

  • Hi Andrew, thanks for your suggestion, we’ll consider repeating assignments for the future updates.

  • Sageun

    Gpa calc soon?

    • Hi Sageun, just wait a little, we’ll announce some news very soon 😉

  • Scrat

    Hi,
first of all, I want to say thank you for this great app! But I have one question. Is there any chance for a Windows version of iStudiez where I can enter my appointments and then synchronize them with iStudiez on iphone/ipod touch. This would save a lot of time because on a real keyboard you can write much faster. Greetings from Germany!

    Scrat

    • Hi Scrat, well, a version for Windows can be in our plans, but not now. Obviously, we’ll keep that in mind for the future.

  • Sebbe

When is soon? School is soon over for my part… at least before Uni starts

    • Hi Daniel,

Where do you use the app on?

      Thank you for understanding.

    • Hi Kevin!

After you purchase iStudiez Pro, you may transfer your data there from iStudiez LITE the following way:
      – on iOS device:
Go to iStudiez LITE Settings > choose Data Managing option > tap ‘Transfer Data to iStudiez Pro’ button.

      – under OS X:
Go to iStudiez LITE > open the Data menu > choose Create Data Backup option > save the backup.
Start iStudiez Pro > open the Data menu > choose Load Data Backup option and load the backup created before.

  • Molly

I already use iStudiez Pro on my iPhone (and love it). In order to sync and use it on my new MacBook Air, can I transfer the pro version, or do I have to also purchase for the MacBook all over again? Too expensive to purchase twice.

    • Hi Molly!

To use the app on your MacBook you have to purchase the OS X version of the app from the Mac App Store.
