Version 1.4.4 submitted – iOS 4.2 compatibility and more…

First of all let us reply to those of you who are impatiently waiting for sync between iPad and iPhone versions of iStudiez Pro: we already implemented it, but it is NOT included in this update, because we need some time to test it now. So sync will come and it will come very soon.

Version 1.4.4 is mostly about iPad version. iOS update from Apple is coming in November and we will be prepared with general iOS 4.2 compatibility, including support of multitasking and possibility to view Calendar events in iStudiez Pro.

We also missed Week View for iPad version of the app, so we developed it for this update as well, hope you’ll enjoy 🙂

And, something that we should have done long ago – iStudiez Pro will now support shift of schedule after holidays (for A&B weeks and rotating schedules) for iPhone/iPod/iPad.

A few words of general betterments:

  • Stability improved
  • Minor bugs fixed
  • Localizations fixed: Spanish, Italian, German and Chinese Traditional
  • Localizations added: British, Catalan (total number of localizations of the app being 29 now! Thanks to all of you who are helping so much with translation and corrections!)
  • Fixed occasional bug with dates in October

    Now, there is only one thing I wish to see in a future version. I don’t know for you, but my teachers don’t give me my grade at the exact same time I’m done with an assignment. They usually take some time to correct it 😉 It would be nice to have a ‘Not Graded” view in the Assignments tab together with an option that would disable the grade popup when you mark a task as done. That would enable a more logical workflow for assignments (Tasks > Grades > Completed).

    But for now. there is only one word can express how awesome this update is…

    Cool! I can´t wait to sync between ipad/iphone and to have the mac verstion.
    One thing i hoped you could include:
    I usually need to send emails for all the partners of an assignement and unfortunatelly we can´t do that at the app… would be nice if this feature were add.

    You still have space to use, under the calendar in landscape mode could be used for up coming assignments and exams (same goes for in-between date and calendar in portrate) having up coming assigments and exams always on display wit be a fantasic feature, and make muse of space waiting for purpose!

    I have a problem, not sure if its me or the app itself. Say I have a
    class with weighted assignments(40% tests, 30% final exam, 20% homework,
    10% attendance). I get a 100 on a test, homework assignment, and for
    attendance so my Grade should be an A but it comes up as C minus (70)
    because I don’t have anything for the final exam yet. Is there some way
    to set it so it doesn’t count the empty weight against me?

    Although I would prefer if iPad users could choose between the balloon and colored dots directly. I miss this and I’m used to it because of the iPhone app. 🙂

    Hi, I have a problem that is this app is great, but I cannot customize the option for GPA Scale in detail, such as 4.00-3.85. If I set one as 3.49, then the app will automatically display as 3.5. Let me fix it as 3.49 etc.

    Do you know if apple will hold it back until November like they for apps with 4.0 comparability?

    maybe u can modify the form to move into the calendar, i mean, when i need to know which day of the week it’s the December 2nd of 2020 i should see all the months between today and 2020.

    why u don’t make a better form to check any week and/or month of any year, in a very short time?? that’s very useful for me and many others…

    Why can’t I sync the calendar or events with either the built in iphone calendar app or outlook?!?! That seems like a major oversight does it not?

    • Samuel, you can see in iStudiez Pro all events that you input in iphone calendar, but not vice versa so far.

    The room assignments on the classes don’t ‘stick’ – the minute I click save for the class in general they go away.

    Since the update the app crashes. When I start iStudiez Pro it always crashes on its main screen. Only the buttons like Calendar etc. are shown and not the first text that appears when you have no classes that day.

    I have the iPhone 3G, version 4.0.1 and it’s jailbroken but I’ve purchased the app.

    There seems to be a bug. When scrolling through the months, I can’t get past the month of February 2011. The app freezes then crashes.

    Hi! I updated the app and now it doesn´t work… it doesn´t load at all, and crashes everytime…
    I love this app and i love so much that everything information of my college is in there… so i really need the app… i had make a backup last week, although it isn´t up to date, at least i can recover most of my data! so, i know you guys do a wonderful job and probably are already working at solving the problem… but please be quick!! :P! i have a paper to deliver and all the information about the contact (where it has to be sent) is in there and i´m not able to find it elsewhere… thank you!

    I updated my iphone to Version 1.4.4 from the previous one, but now it crashes after several minutes of attempting to load. I have an iphone 3g, i tried restarting it, didn’t help???

    Hi, the week shift update is just what I was waiting for. There does seem to be a problem though. The weeks shift great during a 2 week holiday, but not for a one week holiday. I’ve basically set the year up sept- July as one semester & then put the holidays in, as I said it works for the two week breaks but not one. Cheers

    now I updated it on my ipod touch and it doesnt work anymore…it starts, and after a few sec it crashes …

    what can I do ?
    I need it…now college starts again, and I have all my plans in it, but cant see them

    Hi just updated, sent an email about it but posting it here too, but it just crashes on me now. I love this app, it has my life in it but I can’t use it now because all it does is crash. Help. Please.

    Application crashes after start. You can avoid the crash by switching to any icon beside the calendar icon when they start showing up. But as soon as I try to open the Calendar the Application crashes. This problem only exists since i’ve updatet to 1.4.4. on my 3G

    • Husel, we are working on the quick fix of the problem and will submit update by the end of this week. Please DO NOT reinstall the app, your data will not be lost and will be ok with the update.

    I really love this app but unfortunately it’s also always crushing on my ipod. Please, release a fix as soon as possible!

    There’s another “problem”: I live in Europa und so I’ve got number as grades (1-5) but it’s only possible to use letters or points (A-F and 1-100).
    Could you please add this?

    Is anyone having issue with the Location not being saved when adding a Class… This is quite a major flaw for me as I use the App to store my Timetable. I’m using an iPhone 4 with iOS 4.0 if it helps!

    Just posting again to thank you so much for updating compatibility for ios4.2 I’m so happy thank you thank you thank you saved my life I was being so disorganised without it!
    Could I also request a feature? Where it says no more assignments for today, could you put there all the assignments due over the next week / 3 days so that I can easily look at my lessons today aswell as any assignments which may need completing in the near future? Thanks 😀

    I have the same problem as Atharv. I can’t save the room assignments for my classes. The field stays blank on both my iPhone 3GS and iPad (both using the current firmware).

    Just one word for this app: GREAT!
    I’d like to see in future versions the possibility of customizing the task value, for example: Exam=100%, Additional grades: homework=10%, project=20%. Final grade= Exam+homework+project. If Final Grade >= 100, then Final Grade= 100.
    I hope I explained myself correctly.
    Also, what Etienne Maheu said about the Not Graded value would be fine.

    After the recent update I cant seem to type my locations into my classes…a few days ago I could but now I can’t add locations to any of my classes…. please help 🙁

    Hi Andriy, the new update has bugs related to displaying the calendar events from the Calendar app on iStudiez Pro.
    I took a couple of screenshots but I don’t how to attach it to this post.
    It is basically showing a 1-hour even for the entire day even though it also says it only lasts one hour

    Don’t know if it had been requested before: i would need to set up lectures with more than one lecturer. I can imagine that there are more people who would benefit from this feature.

  • Has nobody been dealing with the bug when adding classes? All my classes were gone when I updated to 1.4.4. Now, when I try to save a new lesson into a class, the app crashes and all data is gone.

    I have an iPhone 3G and ever since this update, the application doesn’t load. It opens, but then crashes. Please fix this soon- it’s been over a week and this is ridiculous. I depend on this app, and if it’s not fixed soon I will be forced to get rid of it and give it a horrible rating.

    Can anyone get week shift to work for a one week holiday?

    I have a week off next week and need to shift my schedule so my A-B week timetable won’t think it’s week A when it should be week B! It simply refuses to work!!

    I can not access this app at all now. It is or was my most used app. I have everything for school in this app. I have emailed support but have gotten no response. I hope they fix it soon.

    Ich finde es total schade, dass ihr irgendwie nicht voran kommt mit der Desktop Version. Könnt ihr nicht mal einen ungefähren Zeitplan geben wann ihr wie weit sein wollt? Die Jungs von BiteSMS sind auch immer so unkooperativ und lassen die “Kunden” im Dunkeln. Würde mich freuen, wenn ihr das mal ein wenig offener gestalten würdet! Die App ist super, aber verliert durch die Kommunikationspolitik ihren Reiz…

    Can you add a repeating feature on “Assignments?” .. Like, weekly assignments or biweekly assignments.. Maybe for “Exams” too, for weekly quizzes.

    It’s been almost 2 weeks since the faulty update. I received an email stating that the fix is in review. Is there a hard date that we can expect the release or do we just cross our fingers and hope sooner rather than later. 2 weeks is a very very long turnaround for a crucial bug fix.

    I love this product but just know you guys can make it that much better by allowing the user to set the number of hours in the day on the week view or make the view larger yet scrollable. Currently any 10 minute slots in my schedule appear as the tiniest of lines rather than a large readable block. Apart from that, I’m very happy!

  • I am having trouble with the Bi-Weekly function? Every time I set a class to biweekly it doesn’t put it in my calendar for two weeks when I need it to start the following week 🙁
