Introducing Schedule Sharing in iStudiez Pro

The biggest thing to appreciate in the update we just released is the possibility to share iStudiez Pro schedule to third-party calendars and vice versa. It’s been a while since we have decided to add this option to the app. And it took some time to figure out what would be the best way to integrate it with third-party calendars and make it work smoothly.

We managed to find an elegant solution when implementing our ideas, and as a result you have a smart and simple way to share your schedule to your friends or see their iStudiez Pro schedule in the calendar you are most used to:

We consider this update an important step towards the expansion of iStudiez Pro as a unique global application dedicated to students and their needs and wishes.

As always, we have added some bonuses to the update:

• online classes can now be added without any association with time, location and room. Add the class, see it above all classes in today view, tap the link and go study!

• the flexibility of setting up your schedule is now improved – you can set up classes that take place every odd/even working days.

• search option is now available in the Mac version of the app.

We actually had to do some fixing as well: shift schedule issue, holiday schedule refresh issue, percent GPA scale saving issue…
Oh, and if you wish you can turn off notifications on a device where you do not wish to see them. They won’t be disturbing you now on all your devices at once!

In general, we hope you enjoy this update. If anything does not work (the app crashed, your data is lost or your device drowned), well, this is not a perfect world and you know where to find us.

More news coming soon… 🙂

    Awesome!!!!!

I’ve been waiting for this update for a long time, THANKS! This app, it’s the best money I’ve ever spent. With this update the app is perfect.

The only problem is that changes made in istudiez won’t reflect on other calendars automatically, not until the calendar link is updated manually in settings.

    Thanks!!!!

  • Claude

There are two features I could really use:
    1. The ability to create recurring assignments.
    2. An easier way to reschedule assignments (e.g., drag/drop or shifting selected assignments by a certain time interval). Every time my professors change a syllabus (a frequent occurrence), it is such a pain to move weeks’ or even months’ worth of assignments and exams around one by one on my iPhone. Thanks.

    • Hi Claude!

Thanks for the suggestions, we will take them into consideration.

      Hope to be helpful.

  • Sarah

Why is there not an option to print the actual schedule ?

    • Hi Sarah!

We plan to implement this feature in the future updates of the app.

      Hope to be helpful.

I’m liking the new update, but I was thinking, one feature I’d like to see is to somehow keep up attendance for each individual class. Like if you’re sick and can’t get to class, you could have somewhere in the app to say “I missed this class” or something like that.

Is there any Way That istudiez Exports my lectures to iCal? It only exports Single Events.

    • Hi Felix!

It should export the whole schedule.
Please email us to support(at)istudentpro(dot)com, provide us with a more detailed description and the screenshots of the issue.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Best app ever for college students, below is my wish list
    1. (iOS + OSX) Ability to archive completed past courses’ assignments to make it easier to view current completed courses.
    2. (iOS + OSX) Ability to add extra credit.
    3. (OSX) Group current/completed assignments for each course like iOS version.
    4. (iOS + OSX) Ability to adjust final grades unto 2 decimal places
    5. (iOS + OSX) Ability to select alphabet order besides due date order within Course order.
    6. (iOS + OSX) Better description view + completed date for assignments since they are no more visible with long date+time

With all above add-ons, the app would be even more complete for me, thank you for all of your hard work.

    • Hi Cuong!

We have sent you a respond to your email. Please check.

    HELP!!!
Each time I try to set up a specific time alert for assignments, the app crashes. This has happened on iPod, iPhone, and iPad…all on iOS 6.1.3/4/6.
Once I updated the app (so that sync would work), lost all ability to set assignment times (which was working fine before). Now, they’re all just sitting there marked “someday”.
Desperately need to be fixed. Otherwise, this great app becomes totally useless.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE!

I have also sent a copy of this to [email protected]

    • Hi Kob!

The issue you have faced will be fixed in the future updates of the app. We regret for the inconveniences you may suffer.

  • James

How do you do the export calendar in the Mac app?? I haven’t been able to use this new feature because I can’t find the “share/export” option.

    • Hi James!

Please perform the following on your Mac:
Go to iStudiez Pro Preferences > Sync > Login to your Cloud Sync account
Go to iStudiez Pro Preferences > Calendars > Add to Calendar > Subscribe

      Hope to be helpful.

How do I add my iStudiez Calendar to Windows Calendar? Unless that’s for the Windows Phone OS, I can’t get it working on WIndows 8.1. There’s only an option for Exchange sync or a Windows account.

    • Hi Andrew!

Provide us with a step-by-step description of how you add the calendar and send us the screenshots of the issue you have faced.
Email us to support(at)istudentpro(dot)com. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hey guys, thanks for the amazing app! It is very helpful with my unorganized life! I was just wondering if you guys have any plans on updating your Mac app to work with the new OS X Yosemite when it arrives in the fall?

    • Hi Steven,

Yes, we plan to release the update of iStudiez Pro after OS X Yosemite official release.

      Hope to be helpful.

  • Jing

    Hello,
I’m a student and I used your app for my time management and it really helps a lot.
I still using OS X 10.6.8 and iOS 5 as my major system for macbook and iphone.
I just realized that you stop support those system, and stop the transferred function between them.
I hope you can change this such unfair practices for our premium user, and reopen the transferred function in those old system.
    Thank you.
I have also sent a copy of this to [email protected]

    • Hello Jing!

Due to the differences in the principals of app’s coding it is no longer possible to support iStudiez Pro sync feature on the older versions of iOS and OS X.
We support the latest 2 major versions of iOS and OS X due to the peculiarities of those operation systems.

We regret for the inconveniences you may suffer.

I just bought the mac version (having been using the iPhone and iPad versions for a while. My mac app won’t sync despite entering my account information and logging in. It also won’t let me sync the calendar. I tried emailing support, but have not gotten a response. Any help?

    • Hi Rich!

      We have received your email.

As of now we do not guarantee the smooth work of the app on OS X 10.10.
iStudiez Pro Yosemite compatible update will be released soon after the official release of OS X 10.10.

      Hope to be helpful.

Hi! I pressed “Add to Calendar” and there was a window saying my iStudiez events were added to my iPhone calendar, but I can’t seem to see my iStudiez events in my iPhone calendar. I tried turning off my phone, and I also deleted and re-added iStudiez calendar.
    Hoping for your quick response.

    • Hi Gene!

Please email us to support(at)istudentpro(dot)com, we will try to assist you.

  • Alex S

Love the app, but had a question. I know I can export my entire schedule to ical and from there I can share that with others. Is there any way that I can only share one class to my ical (without deleting all of my other courses)? Or, is there a way I can directly share my class (1 particular class, not all of them) with someone else?

    • Hi Alex!

It is not possible to export only 1 class from your schedule to third party calendar.

      Hope to be helpful.

  • Hello, app makers.

I’ve just started back in graduate school and thought I’d try out the app. So far, it’s what I’ve been looking for.

However, I’m trying to add the due dates of my assignments to the calendar and I can’t seem to find a way to do that. I was able to port the iStudiez calendar to my Fantastical main calendar, but I need the assignments there so I’ll see them more often than when I check iStudiez.

Thanks for any help you can give.

    • Hi Richard!

It is possible to export the schedule and exams from iStudiez Pro to third party calendars at the moment.
It is not possible to export assignments yet.
We plan to implement this feature in future.
