How about we work together?

As the iOS 11 Public Beta is out to taste, most of you might have already installed it.
If that’s so, the better as we have some developments going on regarding iPad version of iStudiez Pro, and we’ve got something to ask of you.

Remember we implemented Split Screen on iPad a while ago? We thought you might also like Drag & Drop, but we need your opinions to understand how exactly you would use it WITHIN iStudiez Pro.
Who would know better than you, in the end?

You are welcome to send us your suggestions as comments to this post or to our support email.
Ideally we wish to be ready with the new features for the back-to-school time.

Thanks a lot!

Maybe you can add photos to assignments. Sometimes easier to take a photo than write homework. And you can make drag&drop photos.

      Hi Artem!
Thanks for the suggestion. Where should the photos be stored e.g. in the app or on your device? Should they sync across the devices?

      • Артём Лисевич

It would be better if user had choice: to take photo right from the app or choose from the library. Photos which will be taken in app should stay in app. And synchronization across the devices, please. 🙂

        • iStudiez_Team

          Thanks!
It may take quite a long time to sync all pics from iStudiez Pro between the devices, right? What if you have e.g. 500 Mb of pics in the app?

          • Артём Лисевич

Hmmm… Very interesting question. You can take example of iMessage. In Settings user can choose period, after which all photos, videos and messages must be deleted. In settings of your app can be choice of periodes, when photos will be deleted automatically. It can be “1 month”, “3 monthes”, “Full semestr”, “Never”. Also should be button in settings “Delete all attachments”.

Sounds reasonable, but what about the space on our servers?
Would you like to pay some additional cost (on a regular basis) for data storage?

          • Артём Лисевич

It can be difficult, but I have an idea. I don’t know hot it realise, but I belive in your team.
System analise how many devices are logged into this account. For example 3. When on one device you synchronize your data, on the servers create 2 copies of this. Then, when you synchronize other device, from servers download 1 copie, and the third copie is for third device. After that all copies delete from servers.
Users don’t keep their data on servers all the time, and you don’t have a big problem with the storage.

          • iStudiez_Team

Even such a temporary data store you refer to still requires the use of servers’ storage. Furthermore, sync service is used not only to sync the data, but to store it as well. If something happens with users device (lost, broken, factory reset) there’s always a possibility to sync data back from the server to device.

So we assume you don’t want to make additional regular payments for data storage?

          • Артём Лисевич

            Yes, you’re right.

            Thanks!

How can I sync the Mac app to my iPhone app, there is no sync button on the Mac app?

    • iStudiez_Team

      Hi Jared,
Please go to iStudiez Pro on your Mac > Preferences > Sync > enable the option > sign into your iStudiez Pro Cloud Sync account to sync the app’s data.

I like the idea of drag and drop, however I’d be more interested in extra options for creating assignments, like recurring assignments, such as a weekly reading assignment.

    • iStudiez_Team

      Hi Luke!

Thank you for the suggestion! It may appear in future.
As of now we may offer you use copy/paste feature to create recurring assignments.
By the way – drag and drop may also help with it 😉

I think iStudiez still misses hour templates. If you have a timetable like me with “static” times for hours (Like you have in a normal school) is it annoying to type the time again and again. Something like time templates are missing and assignments templates. Hope for response 🙂
