Version 1.3 critical bug

Dear all who use and depend on iStudiez Pro in their academics,

We would like to address you with apologies regarding the latest update of iStudiez Pro (version 1.3. with grades/GPA option). The matter is that the update has been approved, but immediately after approval we encountered a critical bug that made the app crash and all data disappear.

Some of you unfortunately have already updated by that time and felt this on their own back.

We stopped sales of the app temporarily not to let other users down as well.

By now, we have already located the problem in the app that caused your data disappear and/or crash. Please be informed that your data is not lost.

It is just not showing in this update.

So to all who have already updated to version 1.3. please DO NOT launch or reinstall iStudiez Pro until we release the update soon. Do not do anything in the app right now (as your newly entered data may not be saved). When you update next time all your data will remain untouched in the app.

We bear full responsibility for what happened and we are now doing everything possible to submit update with critical fix of this problem during this weekend. The only excuse is that we really wanted to give you grades as soon as possible.

    I deleted it so I could reinstall….so is all my data really gone?

    Thanks guys! Luckily for me (and probably a lot of other people) this version came out the weekend after the spring semester was over, so it wasn’t critical to have the app working. I only even noticed because I wanted to play around with the GPA calculator. I still trust you guys to do a great job, and no hard feelings from me (as a compsci major, I know how easy it is to submit something that seems fine and then realize there’s a critical bug).

    I have already deleted and reinstalled previous version before read this.

    Thank you for the update. I was very upset to see all my data gone in this update! When I tried to add new class data back the app just crashed, so I gave up. Glad to see you blogged about it so I at least don’t give up hope.

    Okay, lovely, apology accepted. See, this is the problem when you make a great app – if something goes haywire, it’s like the end of the world. At least something is being done about it. Ta.

    Please hurry up. there are lots of task list in my istudiez, now I can’t see that all! I gonna use ‘grades option’ for only F, without tasks.

    Damn! I thought it was an app from cydia/rock that caused this. Good to see the remedy is on the way, but in the meantime i do not know what pages i need to read for my American Indian Studies class. This app is amazing and I guess this shows how much I depend on it, I am LOST w/out it. Pllleeeaaassseee fix!

    P.s. I am not sure if there is an Auto Backup in the app, and if there is disregard, but maybe this is a good time to add it. Auto backup would save my life, cause sometimes i forget to backup all my info in the app.

    dammit!!, I just tried to reinstall the app before before reading this :S. and my info was lost… count for one victim XD. well anyway the app is great, already paid and very needed for me. Keep the good but unfortunate job :D

    I was just wondering I think I installed 2 updates? did you release the other update yet? because the app still isn’t saving any of my data…just wondering…thanks!
