Update in the pipeline

We know it’s taking us a while to release the long-waited-for update with iPhone 5 compatibility, but we have some good reasons to delay the release, one of them being the need to fix several major bugs and also implement some new useful features.

So please give us some more time. Meanwhile, just to calm most curious of you, here is one of the features that we already added and that will be available in the update: pinch zoom in week view (for iPad version only). Also in all versions of the app it will be possible to see past events in Today view.

Thanks for your patience, we’ll keep you posted.

Thanks guys! I have the app on my iPhone 5 and iPad 2. Patiently waiting for the iPhone 5 screen size version. :) Keep up the good work! Your app is has really saved my life.

Thank you for not rushing out the update. I prefer that developers refine their software for prime time rather than focus on a release date.

Does this address some syncing bugs? Once I install the app on my iPhone after it’s already installed on my Mac, it syncs and completely wipes all my data on both platforms, one of which was empty to begin with. Not sure if it’s only me but it’s what I’m experiencing.

After a few months of waiting since iPhone 5 was announced, another two weeks have passed. Well, we know Apple delayed iTunes 11 and it turned out to be good, please still keep track of your date.

    two things:
    1. why havent you guys made some sort of forum? i think it would be great to have a dedicated section for people to post bugs and suggestions.

    2. have you considered expanding from the school setting? im about to graduate and your software is one i would like to keep using, but not as is right now. this goes back to #1.

Now that more than three months have passed since iPhone 5 was announced. And this is three weeks after you posted this “in the pipeline” thing, and one week before Christmas break. I only see silence.

Most big company apps and most great apps have been optimized for iPhone 5. Facebook, Evernote, Dropbox, Amazon, eBay, BoA, Starbucks…. 1Password, Deliveries, aNotes, Wolfram Alpha, Guitar Pro… Those who are still waiting for an update are mostly games.

Yes, you are adding new features and fixing bugs. But iStudiez Pro is a multiple award winning app! It should not be too cruel to expect a prompt update to support the latest device, given there are only one new device to support. Cannot imagine what happens if you guys were to develop an Android app. Probably it can never be done.

I am not being harsh. I am just a normal user too eager to get the iStudiez Pro without black box on my iPhone 5.

Really? 3 months istudiez pro can do better

All I ask is before the start of next semester. As the guy above said, you are a very popular planner app. This is a bit of a PR disgrace. I would imagine that, like iPad support for most apps, all that is needed is a .plst edit and not much else. Please give us at least a progress update.

I’ve been using this app every day for almost 3 years now. However, I plan on finding a new option for the start of next semester due to your complete lack of support. Adding support for the iPhone 5 is a simple task. You could have easily added it to the existing version of the app and then focused on adding the new features in a separate update. Literally every app on my phone has been updated to support the iPhone 5 except for this one. I am very disappointed.

  11. @Tom, we submitted the update to review a few days ago. Now waiting for Apple.

Great! Thanks! Finally something to expect.

Any plans for iStudiez Pro for Android?

    Glad to read this.

But for next time, maybe you can submit an update just for screen size (which i think is pretty easy to add with the iOS SDK), and THEN focus on new features, rather than delaying everything… Don’t you think ?

Still no collapsing of the class/assignment entries under the “completed” tab? WHY??? This makes the program harder to use, especially while keeping old classes in the app rather than pruning them out so that I can maintain a running GPA.

And no rational sorting under the Completed tab or assignment weight dropdown… This is kind of a disgrace, these are logical and useful changes for the end user. I’ve been asking for these for at least 3 versions now.

The new update makes the app unusable on my 4s. While adding support for 5, you completely made the app useless because it crashes upon start up for my 4s. I’m not the only look. Look at the reviews on the App Store.

  17. @Jacob, please send your data backup to our support mail. We’ll try to solve this.

    Hey iStudiez team.

I posted a while back detailing some bugs, and I am glad to say that most of them are fixed from what I can tell! However, there is one that remains (it was partly fixed, but not completely).

Non-synchronous assignment priority settings: When you are in the info view of an assignment, and double tap to the priority symbol to invoke the easy-access priority changer to change the priority, all other places the priority is listed will change to match the change you made. However, if you remain on the assignment details page, and change the priority again with the easy-access priority changer, the value inside of the full page priority menu will not be updated. This only happens AFTER the first time.

Also, when on the today view, when you tap on a past class and look at the overview, it will say “Past::” with two colons at the top of the page.

Other than those small things, I quite like the new version, now that my new iTouch 5 is supported :)

I have the latest on my ipad, but it cannot sync with the older version on my computer. How can I update it? Do I have to pay for the newest one again?

  20. @Amanda, you can update your Mac version of iStudiez Pro in the Mac App Store for free.

  21. @Austin, Thanks for your suggestions. These issues will be fixed in the nearest update.
